Enjoy full day birdwatching in Amboseli National Park searching for species we mighthave missed earlier. Here, you are able to spot some of the older “tuskers” lumbering almost delicately before the backdrop of highest free-standing Mountain in the world Mount Kilimanjaro. Herds of zebra and wildebeest are easily seen. Amboseli is also the home to Cape Buffalo, hippo, eland, giraffe, as well as cheetah. Every turn will bring a new wildlife surprise. Overnight at Oltukai Lodge or Similar. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
We leave soon after breakfast for Tsavo West National Park. This Park is more mountainous and wetter than its counterpart, with swamps and Lake Jipe. With over 500 species recorded, birdlife is absolutely incredible here. Also, known for its large mammals. We shall Visit Mzima Springs, a superb wetland where birding can also be done on foot. This place will serve you well for two days as you soak in the wildlife and birdlife alike. Overnight at Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge or Similar. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After sumptuous breakfast, we depart to Taita Hills, where we’ll find many endemic species such as the Taita White-eye, Taita Thrush and Taita Apalis. Overnight at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa or Similar. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Early in the morning, we’ll head out to Shimba Hills, a local protected area within the coastal region. It is one of the best birding and game drive spots in the Kenyan southern end. This area is famous for hosting the Sable Antelope, one of the most beautiful ungulates in Kenya and is also home to a large population of African Elephants. Close to the Tanzanian border, this park offers the chance to see species from further south while just a short drive from Kenya’s most popular coastal spots. This afternoon, enjoy birding in shimba hills national park. Overnight at Shimba Hills Lodge or Similar. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve is a staggering 420 km2 coastal forest. It is the largest and most intact coastal forest in all of East Africa, with 20% of all Kenya’s bird species, 30% butterfly species and at least 24 rare and endemic bird, mammal and butterfly species! It’s pretty incredible. You’ll also get the chance to cool off and go for a dip in some of the creeks too. Don’t forget to bring your swimming gear! Overnight at Turtle Bay Resort or Similar. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
We leave soon after breakfast to Tsavo East National Park; which has more open savannah than her sister Tsavo West National Park. The sight of red stained elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palmshaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. Birding and other wildlife will be very interesting and you can expect lots of diversity. The rest of day is spent scoring more birds from this magical destination. Overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Our final day of this incredible Kenya Coastal Birding Safari, ends with an early morning birdwatching before checking out of the lodge. Enjoy birding before exiting the park gate on your way back to Nairobi. On arrival we enjoy our lunch before drop off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your scheduled homebound international flight.
